Eric Lakes - Disabled Veteran US Army - attended college after military service to study computer science. He started a computer firm while in college MCA, Inc. (Micro Computer Analysts, Inc.) in 1988. His business was to manage technicians, installation, design and service of networks.
In 1999 Mr. Lakes started the digital forensic firm Cyber Agents, Inc.
Mr. Lakes found that there was a need for what he called a "data interpreter". He was taking calls from attorneys around the US and World to review work performed by other industry experts and render his opinion on whether they were correct in their findings or there was a misinterpretation of the data. Mr. Lakes has testified as an Expert in Digital Forensics in trials, testified in many hearings, testified in depositions and written opinions in cases. Federal Judges have ruled on cases due to testimony Mr. Lakes has provided that has made a difference in the case and the industry.
By having the computer science background and the day to day work in the computer industry and by taking many courses such as Microsoft classes, Internet email school, MSCE Tracks, CCE Track, A+, Network Plus and many vendor and manufacturers training. Eric has achieved many certifications in the industry which open the mind of the examiner to other tools, techniques and methodologies in performing a specified forensic analysis of the digital media.
Mr. Lakes has taught and been a guest speaker in many forums for private and government arenas: The US Army Trial Defense Services (World Wide), US Naval Law School (Rhode Island), Chase Law School KY, ITT Tech and many other forums.
